West Ham are looking to bring in Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes to the London Stadium, while using Domingos Quina as a part of the deal.

West Ham face their first season with Manuel Pellegrini in charge and hope that the Premier League-winning boss can lead them to greener pastures, after a relegation scrap ensued for the side last campaign.

And, according to Mundo Deportivo, they feel that the way to optimise their chances is by purchasing Gomes from Barca. The Catalan club were hopeful of great things for Gomes when he made the move from La Liga side Valencia for a reported fee of about £33.3 million, but after two seasons at the Nou Camp, Gomes has largely failed to impress and so is now in search of game-time.

In a grand total of 78 appearances for Barca, Gomes has only scored three and assisted four. Not the sort of figures you would expect from a player in the Barcelona set up.

At Valenica, Gomes was spellbinding, but maybe the pressure has all got a bit too much for him at Barcelona, with the likes of Lionel Messi in your side, you're likely to get critical of yourself as a footballer.

West Ham fans, is this a move you would like to see happen? Let us know in the comments section.
