Arsene Wenger bowed out of tenure as Arsenal boss by actually bowing to the Arsenal supporters.

Arsenal mustered their first away win of 2018 in a 1-0 win over Huddersfield at the John Smiths Stadium, but more importantly, the victory rounded off Wenger's superb 22-year tenure.

During his time at the Emirates Stadium (and Highbury, of course), Wenger has won three Premier League titles and seven F.A Cups. It's no wonder much of the attention from this weekend's end of the season TV action was focused very much on the great man leaving the club he's served for over two decades.

Before the game, The Terriers honoured Wenger by putting an 'Au revoir, Arsene' banner across the away dugout. Manager David Wagner also gave Wenger a gift.

The Gunners won the game 1-0. But the real story here is the one between Wenger and the Arsenal supporters. Indeed, the relationship has been fractious during the last few seasons, with Arsenal not reaching the heights that supporters would've hoped for, missing out on Champions League again this season with a sixth-place finish. They dropped down from being title-contenders to a club that aimed for a spot in Europe.

But deep-down every Gunner supporter, however, had a special connection with Wenger. It's why he did something unbelievable in his final goodbyes with the fans.

As he went over to receive the supporter's cheers of appreciation, Wenger himself recognised the importance of the fans to the club. He brilliantly bowed down to them before walking away for one last time.

The Premier League will feel so different without Wenger, but sometimes change is needed for the greater good. The question now is who will be stepping up to fill Wenger's boots.
