Tottenham Hotspur could finally start their transfer business this summer as they have reportedly opened talks with Valencia midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia about a possible move.
The Independent reported in April that Mauricio Pochettino was to be given £120m to upgrade his squad. Tottenham are yet to make any signings this summer, and with the transfer window closing earlier this season, it's crunch time for the North London outfit.
Kondogbia is a 25-year-old French international who can be deployed as a defensive midfielder, he has been capped five times by France, with his last international appearance in 2015.

Having only just joined Valencia this summer on a permanent basis, following a successful loan period, Kondogbia appears to have rediscovered his form which he first displayed at Monaco, touting him as one of the most promising young midfielders, but seemingly went amiss during a disastrous three-year stint at Inter Milan.
In 36 appearances for Valencia, Kondogbia recorded four goals and four assists and is currently valued at £27m by Transfermarkt.

However, it appears that Valencia are adamant that Kondogbia is not for sale, and that to take him away from the Mestalla would require 'Spurs to activate his release clause, a rumoured whopping £71m.'
Tottenham are in dire need of new additions to help match their premier league rivals, and with a large part of 'Spurs squad returning late from the World Cup, and Son Heung-min unavailable due to the Asian Game, could Kondogbia be the player they need to avoid a sluggish start?
