Real Betis Manager Has Pleaded With Iniesta To Change His Mind

He'll take some persuading.

Andres Iniesta will go down as the one of the greatest midfielders to ever grace the modern game. His technical ability, mixed with his range of passing, footballing intelligence and general aptitude on the pitch have turned the Spaniard into a Barcelona legend.

On Saturday night, Iniesta featured in what will likely be his last cup final for Barcelona: a 5-0 thumping of Sevilla in the Copa del Rey final, in which Iniesta scored with a neat finish after superbly dropping the goalkeeper with a feint.

When the season ends, the thought is that Iniesta will jet off to finish his career in China, the country where big footballing names in their early thirties normally go, because of the lucrative pay-packet on offer there.

Of course, the Chinese Super League would be a good move for the World Cup-winning player. But those who have seen the 33-year-old play in the La Liga for so long, such as Real Betis manager Quique Setien, have other plans for the midfielder.

Seiten, a manager who is revered by many in Spain and wanted by some Barca fans to take over their team next, brilliantly took to social media to ask the imminently departing Iniesta to join his club instead of making the move to China.

He said. "Iniesta, please, do not go to China, come to Betis!!"

This would go down fantastically well with Betis fans. They have witnessed their team enjoy a largely successful season; the team currently sit a respectable fifth spot in La Liga and are currently on a six-game winning run in the league.

Iniesta, however, will take some persuading to move to a rival Spanish club. It's a good try, though, Setien!
