Gerard Pique Makes Series Of Confusing Tweets Following Conclusion Of Antoine Griezmann Saga

He had people bewildered with these online posts.

The future of Antoine Griezmann was so important that the decision of him staying at Atlético Madrid was made into a documentary.

It featured on a television programme called The Decision, where he said that he will continue at Madrid. It was a carbon copy of NBA star LeBron James' method of announcing his move from Cleveland to Miami back in 2010.

What makes the whole scenario even more bizarre is that captain of Barcelona - the club which were reportedly after the France international's signature - Gerard Pique posted a series of head-scratching tweets about the conclusion of the saga.

It reads as: Another way to see the footballer's life and his doubts to make the most important decision of his career. Thanks to the team @Kosmos_Studios and especially @AntoGriezmann for these last few weeks. You decided to stay in the @Atleti and I hope you go great this season!"

The first sentence is lost in translation, but it appears to credit the innovative way in which Griezmann's decision was revealed. Pique then thanked the Kosmo Studios for their part in the production.

Now it's clear why: The Spanish defender is actually the owner of the company who shot the video with Griezmann, as revealed by journalists.

But just as that was sorted out, Pique decided to confuse people again with this tweet.

It reads as: "And remember one thing. There will be people who will criticize you, because everything new can generate rejection. But the most important reflection that leaves the #LaDecisión is that sometimes, not everything you sell is true. Good night."

Nothing like footballers writing pieces of philosophy on social media, especially when it makes no sense whatsoever. 'Not everything you sell is true' - move over, Roland Barthes.

We can be thankful, at least, that the Griezmann saga has finished now. Now over to you, Gareth Bale.
