Patrice Evra might've been with the West Ham side during their 4-1 loss against Arsenal, but he still took the time to pay his respect to a legend of the game.

In Arsene Wenger's penultimate match at home with the Gunners, Evra was spotted by London Evening Standard chief football correspondent James Olley going out of his way during his warm-up to shake hands with Arsenal's manager.

Arsenal packed out their stadium to witness one of Wenger's last games in charge. There were echoes of, "there's one only Arsene Wenger" as the home side went into injury time with a three-goal lead, with goals that reflected the true WengerBall of yesteryear; Alexandre Lacazette's finish being a prime example.

It was the French boss' first game with the club since the news broke that he will be leaving Arsenal at the end of the season. It will wrap up a lengthy and illustrious 22-year reign with the club.

And the occasion was obviously appreciated by his French national Evra, who, despite being a former Manchester United player for almost ten years, paid his respects to Wenger by shaking hands with him on the touchline.

Fair play, Evra. There's a time and place to put rivalries aside and give adulation to those who truly deserve it. He's certainly done that.
