Because of his 'unorthodox' punditry, people often forget the raw talent of Michael Owen in his prime. In his youth, the striker scored goals for Liverpool across just over seven seasons, topped with a credible 40 goals in 89 appearances for the England national side.

"He [Salah] is beginning to make me, and the likes of Robbie Fowler, Fernando Torres and Luis Suarez look average," Owen said in his Daily Mail column.
Salah, as one Italian sports reporter claimed just before the season stated, was 'almost world-class.' Indeed, his stats at Roma is decent, and his price-tag seemed about right at the time. No one could, guess, however, the complete domination the Egyptian King has had on football during this season. 40 goals already for the Reds will inevitably be followed by a handful more at least. But does that make him better like the likes of Torres, Owen and Suarez?

"I didn't have him down as a natural goal-scorer at the start of the season. He was still a little like Raheem Sterling: raw and picking the wrong finish.
"He scored a lot, but he missed a lot, too. But that chip against [Manchester] City changed my mind. With great goal-scorers, their mind works slower when they get a chance."
