In a surprise move, Marouane Fellaini will sign a sparkling new contract with Manchester United - and this has infuriated Red Devils supporters no end.

Fellaini was regarded as a fairly decent player at Everton, even though he was prone to making the odd mistake.

He made the move to Man United during David Moyes' reign in 2013 in a deal worth 拢27.5 million. But soon his form started to wane, the midfielder's mistakes costing the club dearly in important matches.

In fairness, the Belgium international had some decent games for the Red Devils, too. He is able to add a strong defensive dimension and is strong in the air - even if he tends to lean in with his elbows.

Fellaini is currently out in Russia with the Belgium national side for the World Cup 2018. And though there were a wide range of reports suggesting that he will be leaving Man United this summer, Belgian outlet HLN are now suggesting that the player who is out of contract this summer has had a change of heart. He sees Manchester as home and is looking forward to continuing his career with them, with sights on winning the Premier League title.

And the Metro say that discussions between the 30-year-old and the club has reached a 'breakthrough' and he is expected to sign a deal that will see him stay at Old Trafford until 2020.

This has upset Man United supporters on social media no end.
