Let's not deny the fact that Mohamed Salah is a fan-favourite footballer for many Liverpool fans. After a phenomenal debut season with the Reds, the Egyptian ranks up high among supporters and, unsurprisingly, is willing to create special moments both on the pitch and off it.

Wayne Dunlop took his son, Lewis, to Liverpool's match against Southampton on Saturday. The eight-year-old held a sign and screamed out to Salah as he approached the crowd, with the Liverpool fan breaking down into tears after the 26-year-old handed him his shirt.

It really is a touching moment. Check it out below:

In fact, the Egyptian international even took to Twitter to reply to Dunlop after being tagged in the video.

An absolute touch of class from Mo.

Well played, sir!

"It was surreal," Dunlop told SPORTbible. "Just such a pure moment that we will talk about for generations [to come]."

Liverpool defeated Southampton 3-0 on Saturday, with Salah getting his name on the scoresheet.

Press Association

Salah, who took home the Premier League Golden Boot after he scored 32 times for the Reds, was heavily criticised for not celebrating Roberto Firmino's late strike in Liverpool's important 3-2 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

It later became apparent that the Liverpool forward's actions were not as some had initially perceived them to be.

Jürgen Klopp's side is top of the Premier League with six wins out of six, though Chelsea could be level on points if they are able to beat West Ham today.
