Fernando Torres is set to leave Atletico Madrid for Japanese side Sagan Tosu - with information of the transfer being published by mistake.

The J-league appeared to have published Torres' move in an article. It has since been deleted, cited as an 'administrative error', but now the whole world has caught on to news of his move.

The Spaniard was linked with a move to the retirement community of the MLS, with Chicago Fire reportedly keen on snapping up the services of the veteran striker.

But Asian side Sagan Tosu seem to have persuaded Torres to make the move to Japan, with Spanish outlet Marca are reporting Torres has been offered a mouth-watering £3.5million-a-year deal, which is worth around £67,000 a week. Not bad going for 34-year-old striker.

Torres could well be the second famous Spaniard to transfer to the J-League this season, following on from former Barcelona star player Andre Iniesta having joined Vissel Kobe after brilliant success with the La Liga giants.

Torres is much loved at Atleico and he'll be sorely missed by the side. He joined a brilliant spell at Liverpool under Rafa Benitez but was then subject to a £50 million move to Chelsea, where his form dwindled, the attacker not finding the form he once had.

Since then it's been a variety of loan spells for Torres, before getting back to his old self with Deigo Simeone's men back in Spain.

We wish him the best in his future endeavours.
