Luka Modric has hit out at England after his national side won 2-1 in the World Cup semi-final clash against England and earned a World Cup final spot. But pundit Gary Neville has fired one right back at the midfielder with a brilliant tweet.

Modric was pinpointed to be the standout opponent in the Three Lions' clash against the Croatians, but into extra time, the talisman started to wither, and his age became apparent.

That's not to take anything away from a player who's hugely underappreciated in football, someone who is arguably one of Real Madrid's most important players.

But - regardless of his talent and pending trail, of which he's accused of perjury - the veteran decided to criticise England.

He said: " We showed again we were not tired. We dominated the game physically, mentally - in all aspects," he said.

"English journalists, pundits from television, they underestimated Croatia and that was a huge mistake.

"All these words from them we take, we were reading and we were saying, 'OK, today we will see who will be tired'."

We don't think anyone underestimated the Croatians, England supporters were just being positive and believing that their side could win.

Then the Croatia boss Latko Dalic said this:

"There is always some extra motivation and we always respect our opponents," he said.

"Maybe the English team should have respected us more, especially when you consider where our players play their football, but this is football and sport.

"Maybe there was an element of extra motivation because of [comments from England], but there was also motivation to play in the final and make our fans and the country happy."

Luckily, Neville has come to the rescue and fired one right back at Modric with this tweet.

You show 'em, Nev.
