Real Madrid have experienced a difficult start to their season without former boss Zinedine Zidane and former talisman Cristiano Ronaldo.
Julen Lopetegui's side are fourth in La Liga after eight matches, picking up four wins, two draws and two losses.
When it comes to defending their Champions League crown, Los Blancos experienced a shock defeat to CSKA Moscow in their most recent clash.
It looks like the post-Zidane and post-Ronaldo era has not been the most promising for the Spanish club, with rumblings that Lopetegui could be sacked if they fail to pick up a result against Barcelona in El Clásico later this month.
Fabio Capello has now stepped up to offer his two cents on Madrid's problems.
According to the former Madrid manager, he believes that they should target Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi.
"I am a fan of Icardi, I like him," he told Rai Radio 1 (via Diario AS and Football Espana).
"Real Madrid should make him their priority to be signed, because he is the most similar player to Cristiano Ronaldo and is deadly in the penalty box.
"He is the player Ronaldo has been in recent years and Icardi is someone who has that movement and feel for the goal."
Icardi moved from Sampdoria to Inter in 2013 and has made over 150 appearances and scored over 100 times.
The 25-year-old Argentine striker propelled his side to Champions League qualification last season, scoring 29 times in Serie A to become the league's top scorer for the 2017-18 campaign.
Should Madrid sign Icardi?
