BT Sports are looking to replace Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard as pundits with a couple of Manchester legends.

Lampard is rumoured to be joining Championship side Derby County as manager, while Gerrard has already taken over the reigns as boss of Rangers, leaving BT Sport with a couple of punditry spots to fill.

So, the company are looking to replace the two England greats with a pair of names known throughout the north-west: former Red Devils captain Roy Keane and current Man City skipper Vincent Kompany.

The Daily Mail report that Keane is being eyed up by the media outlet, despite currently under contract to ITV and assistant manager for Ireland.

Keane is known for his outlandish remarks and has been criticised for his lack of insight as a pundit, saying just last season that he wouldn't watch Liverpool if they were playing in his back-garden, whilst also criticising Jack Wilshere for succumbing to another injury, hampering the Arsenal star's chance of heading to Russia for the World Cup. We're sure he didn't do it on purpose, Roy.

If Keane were covering last season's final of the competition, we'd imagine he would've described Bale's goal as: "OK."

His appointment would be controversial, but it's thought BT Sport will offer him an extensive contract that would see him in the studio for coverage of the Premier League and Champions League next season.

Kompany would prove a popular choice, however. Despite currently still enjoying his playing career, the 32-year-old is no stranger to TV appearances. His punditry as been widely praised and so would be a welcome addition to the BT Sport squad.

Perhaps Vinny and Keane could be a double-act on the show, a sort of good-cop, bad-cop but with football analysis.

What do you make of these two signing with BT Sport?
