Barcelona Unbeaten Season Comes To An End In Second To Last Game Against Levante

Barcelona Unbeaten Season Comes To An End In Second To Last Game Against Levante

Barcelona could not do what Arsenal once did.

Barcelona faced their final away test in their pursuit of going the whole season unbeaten - but, in the end, they could not manage the victory over Levante.

In an enthralling contest, the hosts went ahead through Emmanuel Boateng. He scored twice before former Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho brought one back for Barca. But Levante, against the odds, took the game to the La Liga giants, with Boateng earning a hattrick and Enis Bardhi scoring.

The Catalan side's most expensive player brought the scores to 4-1, and then he got a brace to unbelievably make it 5-1 to Levante. Barca had gone the whole La Liga season unbeaten, how was it they were now losing 5-1 to 16th place Levante, a team with nothing to play for. But then Barca started to turn up the heat, with Coutinho getting his own hat-trick before Luis Suarez took the score to 5-4.

But the away side held on and brilliantly snubbed Barca for their chance of doing their own Invincibles campaign. Barca, the La Liga winners, will now play Real Sociedad at the Nou Camp in the knowledge that could not go unbeaten. Fair play, Wenger. Fair play.
