Man United Fans Are Unhappy With Paul Scholes' Comments About Jesse Lingard

This isn't the first time Scholes has annoyed Man United supporters with his comments.

Paul Scholes might be a Manchester United legend but sometimes his comments upset their supporters.

The former player was an integral part of one of the greatest Premier League squads, at a time where Man United were kings of England.

Nowadays, however, the Red Devils are more title-contenders than title-winners. Though there is talent in the squad, it's incomparable to the halcyon days of Sir Alex Ferguson's and his side.

Even still, Jesse Lingard has been one of the standout performers for Man United recently.

The attacker scored a superb goal in England's 6-1 demolition of Panama in the World Cup group stages.

Scholes sung his praises, via BBC Five Live, but seemed to take a dig at current Man United boss Jose Mourinho, even though it was through Portuguese' decision to give Lingard regular starts that the 25-year-old has bee has been able to flourish.

"His (Lingard's) form for England has been fantastic. I think, possibly, the manager for England has a little bit more belief in him than his club manager (Mourinho)," said Scholes.

"When things aren't going well at Manchester United he's the first man taken off, but with England I think Gareth really believes in him and gives him confidence.

"He's really flourishing and thriving in that atmosphere."

These comments haven't gone down too well with some Man United supporters.

Clearly, Scholes prefers the way England boss Gareth Southgate manages the 25-year-old.

But surely Mourinho has got the best out of Lingard so far.
