Liverpool Jurgen Klopp offered his take on Alexis Sanchez's move to Manchester United in his press conference ahead of his side's trip to Swansea.

The Chilean's move to Old Trafford looks set to be completed in the next couple of days and it's no surprise that Klopp was asked for his thoughts.

Plenty of people are of the opinion that Sanchez is only moving to United for money, following the news that Manchester City pulled out due Arsenal's £35 million valuation and the player's agent asking for an increased amount of wages as well as a large fee for himself.

The talk is that Sanchez will earn a reported £14 million per year after tax and though it is a substantial amount for a player soon to be out-of-contract, Klopp dismissed the notion that the 29-year old's motivations are only money-orientated.

"Nothing to say about the numbers but I cannot imagine City leaves the race because of money," he is quoted as saying by The Independent.

"It's not about money. Maybe it's because there are two opportunities in Manchester and if you think you could go to one or the other, maybe one club thinks: 'I don't want him anymore'. I'm not sure, but it's not about money.

"Alexis Sanchez makes sense for each team in the world because he's a fantastic player, so bring him in whenever. I think it helps, United as well.

"He's a really good player but, like I said, we are not in and that's the only thing I'm interested in. That's it."

Once a deal, which will include Henrikh Mkhitaryan heading to the Emirates, is completed, Sanchez will become the 12th player to have played under Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho.

The esteemed list includes a whole host of talented players such as Kevin De Bruyne, Cesc Fabregas, Eidur Gudjohnsen and Arjen Robben. Check it out here:
