Following the announcement that he'll be missing the 2019 Copa America, this has been a year of torment so far for Neymar.
The 27-year-old has ruptured a ligament in his right ankle, meaning he will not play a part in host nation Brazil's campaign.
It is a blow for the PSG star, as this year has been filled with incident on and off the pitch, with this summer's tournament presenting itself as a chance to show off his talent.

From being 'memed' after PSG's Champions League exit to altercations with fans, let's catalogue the last six months for the world's most expensive player.
The former Barcelona man broke a metatarsal against Strasbourg back in January, which ruled him out until April and crucially out of PSG's Champions League round-of-16 tie against Manchester United.
Despite not getting on the pitch across the 180 minutes against the Red Devils, the Brazilian still found himself the centre of attention.

Following PSG's defeat to Manchester United, Neymar ranted on social media over the VAR decision which resulted in United's late penalty.
"This is a disgrace, they put four people who know nothing about football in charge of looking at the replay for VAR," he said on social media. "It's just not possible!!!
"How is a guy going to hold his hand behind his back. Go f*** yourselves."

The rant resulted in a three-match ban from UEFA.
Neymar had a chance to win the French Cup, but PSG were defeated by Rennes 6-5 on penalties.
Following the game, Neymar was seen appearing to throw a punch at an opposing fan, who had been mocking the PSG players.

This resulted in another three match ban for the forward.
On the national front, Brazil coach Tite stripped him of the captaincy in May due to 'disciplinary issues.'
Fast-forwad to the present day and Neymar hobbled off less than 20 minutes in to Brazil's warm-up game against Qatar with his ankle injury.

"Neymar will not have the physical conditions and sufficient recovery time to participate in the Copa America Brazil 2019," as confirmed in a Brazilian FA statement.
The Brazilian will be hoping he can have a good start to next season and put the last six months behind him.
