Cristiano Ronaldo added to his astonishing Real Madrid goal tally against Celta Vigo this evening - but somehow contrived to miss an absolute sitter in the closing stages.
Los Blancos traveled across Spain knowing that a win would take them to within one point of their first La Liga title since Jose Mourinho was in charge back in 2012, and Ronaldo looked up for the occasion from early on.

It took him just 10 minutes to bag his first of the evening, and he made it 2-0 just three minutes into the second-half.
Celta's John Guidetti reduced the deficit but Karim Benzema made sure of things by making it 3-1 in the 70th minute, and Ronaldo was presented with a gilt-edged opportunity for his hat-trick just four minutes later.
After beating the Celta defence, Ronaldo pretty much had the goal at his mercy but, well, he made an absolute pig's ear of it:
