The age old problem, should it be the fans that lift the players or the players that lift the fans? Well for Manchester United something's got to change and the club are considering song sheets and European style 'cheerleaders.'

Often when a team are struggling to play inspiring football it falls on the fans to urge them on but shouldn't it also be the other way round, fans pay their money they deserve to be entertained.

That's the problem that Jose Mourinho has found himself facing at Manchester United. If your football is so boring, so often then defeats become even harder to take and the wins become harder to enjoy.

Check out our videos on the best Jose Mourinho quotes:

Mourinho has previously complained that Old Trafford isn't loud enough for his liking describing it as a 'quiet stadium' and comparing it to Portsmouth's Fratton Park, a fanbase known for their volume.

The BBC and the Times are reporting today that during a fan forum earlier this week one supporter suggested song sheets to help improve the atmosphere with the club saying they would consider it.

Also under consideration is believed to be continental style cheerleaders or hype men with microphones leading the fans in songs and chants.

Unsurprisingly the suggestions haven't gone down too well on social media:

It is a big criticism of modern football in the big clubs in the Premier League that ticket prices have priced many 'ordinary' fans out of games, paving the why for more executive seats and 'tourist fans.'

Of course Mourinho could improve things by trying to attack!
