Spurs Have Only Won Four In 86 Away Against Four Rivals

Spurs Have Only Won Four In 86 Away Against Four Rivals

Mauricio Pochettino's side were poor in the North London derby against Arsenal on Saturday afternoon.

For as far as Spurs have come under Mauricio Pochettino they do have a problem with beating the best sides away from home and that was exactly their issue against Arsenal in Saturday's north London derby.

Mauricio Pochettino and Spurs are the great contenders. Now the verge of doing something great in English football, and possibly in Europe, but not quite there yet.

At the same time, and paradoxically, the time is running out on the side currently playing their home games at Wembley. With Pochettino and his stars going longer without winning anything the more likely it is they'll leave before success comes.

Right now one thing standing in Tottenham's way is being able to pick up results away from home against their rivals for the top four spots and the title.

First half goals from Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez gave Arsene Wenger's side a 2-0 win today and meant that Pochettino's men have only recorded away wins four times in 86 games against Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool.

The win for Arsenal now puts them just one point behind their north London rivals after a start to the season that was considered quite significantly worse than the team currently playing their home games at Wembley.

Spurs have somewhat got over their inability to win at Wembley recently with big wins against Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid and Liverpool but they must now get over otherwise they won't win anything.

Having been injured for the England games in the last eight days Dele Alli and Harry Kane returned to the Spurs fold and were utterly anonymous for the 70 minutes they lasted.

Christian Eriksen, who starred for Denmark against Ireland, was equally non existent in the derby as Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette and Alexis Sanchez were a brilliant front three together.
