Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has not hidden the fact that he would like a move to Real Madrid this summer, much to the annoyance of his current team. Tonight though was not the kind of audition he'd have wanted.
Aubameyang is one of the world's elite strikers and in a world where there aren't too many of them he's hot property to the world's best teams.
Should he become available at any time, most likely this summer, then there would be quite the clamber for his signature with Real joined by PSG, Manchester City and Chelsea as the club's linked with a move.

However tonight against Benfica in the Champions League last 16 the Gabon forward had an absolute mare including missing a spot kick with one of the worst penalties you're likely to see:
And the dreadful penalty miss was enough to see Aubameyang subbed off just six minutes later as the final straw of one of the worst nights he's had in a Dortmund shirt.
As well as the penalty miss the former AC Milan forward also missed two one-on-ones:
Benfica goalkeeper Ederson was on terrific form for the home side as Dortmund failed to break Benfica down despite having 69% possession and 14 shots.

Ederson was possibly lucky to stay on the pitch after he should have given away a penalty in the first half for his foul on Ousmane Dembele but considering their profligate shooting the German's probably would have missed.
To add insult to injury for Dortmund it was former Fulham flop Kostas Mitroglou who made the difference scoring the only goal of the game.

They'll be better days for Aubameyang!
