Alex Iwobi capitalised on some loose play by Casemiro to strike first in Sunday night's Premier League match between Everton and Manchester United.

The clash at Goodison Park was barely five minutes old when Iwobi unleashed a rocket of a strike from outside the penalty box, one which flashed past the out-streched hands of United stopper David de Gea.

It gave The Toffees a great opportunity to win a third Premier League game in a row, which they haven't managed since Carlo Ancelotti left the club.

By contrast, it was a nightmare start for Erik Ten Hag's side, with out-of-favour Casemiro - who has had to bide his time so far at Old Trafford - partially at fault for the goal.

The hosts were quick out of the blocks, closing down well, and putting United under pressure from the very outset. This was exemplified best by the pressing of Casemiro, which saw the Brazilian give the ball away in a dangerous area.

He and United were made to pay for the error, as Iwobi fired home just seconds later.

The lead wouldn't last long, however, as just 10 minutes later fellow Brazilian Antony equalised for the Red Devils.

The summer arrival from Ajax has already scored four times since making the move to the Premier League side, going some way towards paying back his sizeable £85 million fee.

United then completed the turnaround just before half-time, thanks to a strike from Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese superstar broke away on a counter-attack, before cooly slotting the ball beyond Jordan Pickford in the Everton goal to hand his side a 2-1 lead.

It is Ronaldo's first Premier League goal of the season, and his 700th in club football.

Earlier this week, the 37-year-old was linked with a move to MLS side Inter Miami, who are currently managed by former United man Phil Neville.

According to the Daily Mirror, Miami are willing to sanction a move for Ronaldo, but only on a free transfer, which his current employers would be unlikely to accept.

The outlet adds that Man United value their prized asset at £10 million, with interested parties needing to match that in order to land him in January.
