UEFA have unveiled their 18-man Europa League squad of the season, and, to no surprise, it's dominated by Manchester United.

Fresh off their Europa League final victory against Ajax on Wednesday night, UEFA have named eight United players in the team of the competition.

Jose Mourinho guided his side to their third piece of silverware of the season courtesy of goals from Paul Pogba then Henrikh Mkhitaryan, eventually earning the 2-0 win.

The Europa League trophy joins the Community Shield which they won in pre-season against Leicester City, and the League Cup where they beat Southampton in February.

And after clinching another major European honour, the United players have been recognised in the team of the campaign.

The squad was assembled by UEFA's technical observers, including the likes of former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson as well as ex-Ajax defender Cristian Chivu and ex-Finland manager Mixu Paatelainen, to name but a few.

Jose's keeper for the competition was Sergio Romero, who deputised for regular No.1 David De Gea, makes the list while his back line also make up a majority of the defence.

Eric Bailly, Daley Blind and Antonio Valencia - who skippered the victory - join defenders from Celta Vigo, Ajax and Lyon.

The 'Man of the Match' in the final, Ander Herrera, makes the squad of midfielders with goalscorers Pogba and Mkhitaryan with the technical observers claiming the Frenchman is a 'complete player.'

And finally, despite not playing in the Sweden showpiece, Zlatan Ibrahimovic who bagged five goals and created a further four completes the United heavy squad of the season.

Other notable players included Anderlecht's Belgium ace Youri Tielemans who has since joined AS Monaco, and the departing Lyon frontman Alexandre Lacazette and Chelsea's loanee Bertrand Traoré, amongst others.
