Video of Aubameyang taking in the atmosphere at the Emirates before kick-off has Arsenal fans saying the same thing

Arsenal fans have reacted to the video of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before kick-off.

Arsenal fans have reacted to a video of an apparent emotional Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang taking in the atmosphere at the Emirates on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old was handed a start against his old team as Frank Lampard looked to win his first game back in charge of the club.

But the Blues suffered another bruising defeat as the Gunners ran out 3-1 winners, with Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Jesus getting on the score-sheet.

Noni Madueke pulled one back for the visitors as Aubameyang failed to influence the match.

However, his outing in North London got Arsenal fans talking as they all have said the same thing after a video of him taking in the atmosphere emerged online.

Arsenal supporters on social media believe he looked regretful ahead of kick-off.

One Twitter user wrote: "He never wanted to leave us."

A second tweeted: "Face is the look of what could have been. I think the booing is unjust tho because without him Arsenal do not win that FA Cup."

A third added: "Aubameyang looks like he's reflecting on what could have been."

A fourth said: "His face says it all. Pure regret. Felt a bit sorry for him tbh."

Another commented: "Looks like he is about to cry. Should have abided by the non negotiables."

The Chelsea star even reacted to the video as he left an emotional comment on a post sharing the clip.

On Instagram, he wrote: "You know sometimes people forget what's the real life and forget about how you can't control what's gonna happened."

Speaking before the game, Lampard explained why he started the Gabon forward.

"I think we all know Auba coming in fresh for us in the last few weeks has been - he hasn’t played so much as a number nine which is the main position that you need to have that sharpness in match days," he said.

""He’s shown a little bit of that against Brentford, and he’s a reference, he’s got a history of scoring goals, may be motivation for him to play here.

"With Noni [Madueke] he’s trained really well, and when you come into a big squad you need players to show something in training, and he’s shown that."

Aubameyang, though, was dragged off at half-time as he barely made an impact.

His time at Stamford Bridge hasn't quite worked out, having only scored one league goal this season.
