AI creates 'typical' footballer for different nations

What does a ‘typical footballer’ from different nations look like?

AI has created a typical footballer from different nations across the world.

Artificial intelligence is becoming one of the biggest talking points around the world, with AI soon to have a huge effect on the sporting world.

Last week, a thread was posted on Twitter with pictures of what AI thinks a typical footballer from different nations would look like.

The pictures were made by Midjourney, which is a generative artificial intelligence program.

A typical footballer was created for 18 countries, they are Brazil, Germany, Spain, France, Nigeria, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Netherlands, South Korea, Morocco, Denmark, Sweden, Senegal, Italy, Belgium and Argentina.

It has been said that AI will have a big impact on football in the future.

Premier League club Liverpool have previously partnered with the Google-owned AI company DeepMind.

The trial saw Liverpool provide DeepMind with data from every Premier League match played between 2017 and 2019.

With the hope that the AI will be able to make decisions for managers and even create an automated video assistant coach.

In March, it was reported that AI is now being used to scout players for professional clubs.

AiSCOUT is a fully automated talent analysis and development platform which uses AI to analyse athletes around the globe with the use of a mobile phone.

The app will give players specific drills based on what football teams are looking for.

From there, it will analyse their performances from each drill for scouts to make a decision.

It is believed that 45 players have been trialled and signed using the app.

One of the players, Josh Oliver got a score high enough to alert AiSCOUT which led to him playing against Burnley.

As per ITV News, he said: “Playing against a team like Burnley puts you in the environment of a pro club.

“So professional scouts can see you rather than them having to travel down to see you.”
