Jose Mourinho made lots of Manchester United fans happy, and annoyed pretty much everyone else, with his show of defiance following the Red Devils' surprise Champions League win against Juventus in Turin.

Manchester United's form in the last few weeks has generally been better in recent weeks but the one thing that tarnished their recent record was a poor performance at home in the Champions League against Juventus.

On Wednesday night they travelled to Turin with the chance to get revenge but with most people counting out those chances.

There was definitely an improvement in Jose Mourinho's side's performance but Cristiano Ronaldo put the Serie A champions ahead of his former side in the second half with a brilliant goal.

Juan Mata looked to have earned the English club a point with a brilliant free kick with just four minutes to go but just three minutes later another free kick caused hell in the Juve box and Alex Sandro put the ball in his own net.

The comeback gave United a brilliant three points and handed the Old Lady their first group game loss since December 2009.

At full time Jose Mourinho split opinion by cupping his ear to the Juventus fans, causing Leonardo Bonucci to be very annoyed

At the end of the game at Old Trafford, that United lost 1-0, the former Inter boss stuck three fingers up at the away fans in reference to the fact his Nerazzurri side won the treble in 2010.

After the match on Wednesday he hinted that the insults he'd received in the stadium were the reason for his ear cupping, saying, "I was insulted 90 minutes and I'm just here doing my work. I was insulted, my family was insulted, and I did the gesture meaning I wanted to hear more songs now."

It was a huge three points for United putting them in second place in Group H, two points behind Juvenuts and two points ahead of Valencia.

Next they face Young Boys at Old Trafford and if they win and Valencia fail to beat Juventus in Italy then they will go through.
