Hold on to your boxing gloves - the latest trailer for the upcoming film Creed II has landed and it looks awesome.

Since releasing the first trailer back in June - and getting our first glimpse of Adonis Creed's next opponent, Victor Drago (yes, Ivan Drago's son!) - fans have been waiting for more information on the upcoming sequel.

The boxing drama, which is directed by Steven Caple Jr., and written by Sylvester Stallone and Cheo Hodari Coker (Luka Cage), will see Michael B. Jordan return as Adonis Johnson, son of Apollo Creed.

Following his fight against 'Pretty' Ricky Conlan in the first film, the sequel will see Adonis continue his training under Stallone's Rocky Balboa (who else?) for a brutal fight against Drago (Florian Munteanu). Tessa Thompson also returns as Adonis' love interest, Bianca.

The tense history between Rocky and Drago goes all the way back to Rocky IV - which was made at the height of the Cold War, and featured Apollo Creed (Adonis' dad) taking to the ring to take on Drago senior in a USA vs USSR grudge match.

Tragically, a tiring Apollo lost his life after suffering some serious blows from Drago - thus leaving the behind the orphan Adonis, with whom we fell in love in the first Creed movie.

The day before the trailer dropped fans were treated to a teaser with a new film poster - the kind that makes you want to run to the gym to do some reps.

The official synopsis from MGM and Warner Brothers reads: "Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life.

"Facing an opponent with ties to his family's past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what's worth fighting for, and discover that nothing's more important than family.

Warner Bros

"Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can't escape your history."

If the first Creed film is anything to go by, it's going to be an agonising countdown until 21 November when this hotly-anticipated sequel is set to hit cinema screens. See you in the queue, LADs.
