Conor McGregor Makes A Stupidly Bold Prediction About Floyd Mayweather Rematch

It's just over a month since the two fought but Conor McGregor would still love to face Floyd Mayweather inside the octagon.

I'll be honest after weeks of build up and a crazy week after their fight I didn't expect to be writing about Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather again. But here we go and all because of the Notorious.

About a month ago was a one in a lifetime opportunity to watch the king of boxing and the king of UFC go one-on-one inside a boxing ring. No surprises that the the king of boxing came out on top.

That took Mayweather to an incredible 50-0 professional career record and he duly retired, admittedly for about the fourth time in his career. For McGregor it felt like a life back in MMA beckoned.

As a sport boxing has moved on with GGG vs Canelo and the mouthwatering prospect of some other big fights coming up whilst UFC is also at an intriguing time as McGregor prepares to comeback.

But at his 'A Night With Conor McGregor' event in Glasgow, via MMA Fighting, the Irishman made his feelings known that he would love another crack at Mayweather because he believes he'd win:

"What's sickening me is that the little motherf**ker is retired now. I know if I went another go with him, under boxing rules, I'd get that win. I know that. I know by the feeling of him in the first fight.

"He had to change his whole approach. He fought completely different than he ever fought. He couldn't figure out what I was doing early on. With the lessons I learned from that first fight, if I had another go now, I'd get him"

The UFC lightweight champion did reveal he won't be calling Mayweather out but reminded the American he said they could do it an MMA environment adding, "I'm not gonna start calling him out. I'm happy to see a fighter (do well). It's a dangerous game we're in. I'm not gonna start calling him out. I'll sit back and wait and I'll fight...

"Originally, he said an MMA fight next. He was talking about an MMA fight next. That's what he said before the fight. So, what's he going to do? Does he want another fight? In my head I'm thinking, get one of these boxing guys to come over into my world now."

UFC fans will be hoping that McGregor stops eyeing up the chance to fight boxers, whether it's in his environment or theirs, and instead look at the interim lightweight title fight between Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee next week.

Fighting the winner of that, Khabib or Nate Diaz should be where the 'Notorious' concentrates his efforts next. But Mayweather coming out of retirement for a second installment? Maybe that's somewhere down the line.
