Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather

Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather reached the final round of their verbal sparring in London tonight. The crowd were certainly on the Irishman's side and he opened with one of his best barrages of the last four days.

Four days of speeches from the 'King of UFC' and the 'King of Boxing' have at times been entertaining, fun and hilarious but at other times they have been stale, repetitive and quite frankly nothing short of hideous.

The two fighters have swapped barbs in LA, Toronto, New York and London and have unfortunately come across as racist, homophobic, misogynistic and far too money obsessed for much of the time.

Let's get it right the pair aren't professional comedians or politicians and the format of the events was a bit weird but that can't excuse all of their behaviour.

However at it's best it has been very good and tonight McGregor opened with a barrage against the 49-0 'Money' Mayweather by insulting his age, his actions, his clothes and the fact that he had to wear heels to match up on the third night of the tour:

Unsurprisingly London was a very partisan crowd for the 'Notorious' and cheered his every move and comment whilst the 40 year old American was roundly booed and often ignored.

Despite the fact that McGregor once again insulted the head of Showtime, the television company showing the fight, Espinoza refused to join in with Mayweather's 'point at the easy work' shtick with only his daughter joining in, much to the boxer's embarrassment.

Nothing really paid off for Mayweather who stayed on the mic longer than his opponent. He tried to steal all the mics to stop McGregor talking during his bit but the Irishman was too quick.

He also attempted to get the crowd to sing 'Happy Birthday' to McGregor but instead the Irishman got them to shout "Fuck the Mayweathers."

It was definitely a win for McGregor tonight but all round it's been pretty ugly and you only hope the fight itself is a bit prettier.
