The two heavyweight world titlists could meet as early as April 2018 to decide who is the best in the division.

Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder is the fight that simply has to happen sometime in 2018. There's a long way to go until the pair meet but Eddie Hearn has been talking about where it might be.

Before Anthony Joshua's latest defence of his title last month Deontay Wilder was really ramping up the hostilities between the pair. Then the American made the latest defence of his own version of the world title and the talk got more intense.

Right now the pair of heavyweights have to be considered the two best in the world and are both undefeated, leaving most of us wanting that fight to decide who really is the best in the world.

We will get answer this year after AJ's agent Eddie Hearn confirmed last week that the 2012 Olympic champion will meet the Bronze Bomber sometime this year, although talks are far from complete.

However there are clearly talks happening and, talking to iFL TV, Hearn spoke about where the fight might take place, saying:

"We talked about it doing it in March or April (2018). We talked about maybe both of them boxing on the same card in March or April - then doing it in the summer.

"We talked about doing it outdoors in the UK. We talked about doing it in Vegas. They want it in Vegas. We'd like it in the UK. We talked about doing two fights. One in Vegas or one in the UK, or visa versa. So everything is in play."

Clearly there's still a long way to go with so many options still a possibility but the idea of the pair having one fight in the UK and another in America is certainly one that would appeal to many.

Of course if there's two fights then there's every chance it could end one win each and require a third, even bigger money, fight to decide the winner.

The heavyweight division really needs the pair to put on a series of brilliant fights and it also needs a fit and firing Tyson Fury to come back and be as good as he showed against Wladimir Klitschko two years ago.

It's an exciting time for the heavyweights.
