There's A Petition To Cast Chris Eubank As The Next James Bond

Former WBO middleweight champion Chris Eubank Sr is being backed to become the next James Bond.

According to reports, we could be a step closer to seeing a new Bond after it's been claimed British actor Lashana Lynch is set to take over the spy's iconic code name, 007, in the forthcoming Bond 25.

But some fans feel Eubank, who has become a viral hit after several appearances on Gogglebox, would be perfect for the role.

In fact, Daniel B has created a petition on Change.org to try and rally the idea.

"Chris Eubank is not only a national treasure but also one who has seen action for most of his life, and his larger-than-life personality would be perfect as the next James Bond." it reads.

Over 200 people have already signed the petition at the time of writing.

Twitter account @NoContextEubank tweeted about the idea and it quickly received thousands of likes.

Eubank recently made the claim that his son can still surpass Floyd Mayweather as the best boxer in the world.

Ahead of the crunch clash with James DeGale for the vacant IBO super-middleweight title, Eubank Sr made the following claim:

"If you look at the [Nick] Blackwell fight, and obviously very unfortunate about the outcome or the aftermath, but that performance - I was looking at brilliance," he told iFL TV.

"It doesn't really matter who the opponent is, can you perform like that? Because obviously he's got the tools: the hand speed, the volume in terms of rate of punching.

"What couldn't he do in my head? I thought this was a man who could replace Mayweather - and maybe he still can.

"But now I've got to just step back and watch because, obviously, things don't always add up to what you think because you don't know what's going on in the head of an individual."
