A few weeks removed from his world title clash with Wladimir Klischko at Wembley Stadium, Anthony Joshua remains the talk of the sport following his thrilling heavyweight firefight.

The boxing community from 'Iron' Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis to Evander Holyfield have vowed that the 27-year-old is just the man to bring back the glory days to the storied division.

Former heavyweight ruler Tyson issued the ultimate complement by claiming Joshua changed boxing with one single fight, while aiming a dig at Floyd Mayweather in the process.

"Floyd [Mayweather] is making a lot of money and we've got a lot of little guys fighting, but what they want to see is a heavyweight fight," Tyson said.

While adding, "the heavyweight that knows how to fight, like Joshua, that's what makes boxing big. The heavyweights make boxing big."

Before taking another swipe at the undefeated fighter, "The other guys can make some money, but they are not making the sport big.

And that 'little guy' has given his thoughts on Joshua, and he disagrees with Tyson's verdict.

Needless to say, boxing fans didn't agree with his comments.

"He goes off on a tangent and talks about Gervonta Davis and Badou Jack and puts them in the same bracket as Joshua. AJ is in a different stratosphere to these guys. Mayweather can never give a guy top dog status."

"AJ is the man. Floyd is jealous ."

"AJ is the biggest name in boxing now since Floyd retired. He's bigger than Canelo."

"Floyd refused to say anything good about AJ, not sure why."

"There's something seriously wrong with this guy. You're the highest paid sportsman in history, undefeated record. Arguably one of the greatest boxers in history, Yet he struggles to give credit to anyone else. The jealousy with this guy is off the scale. I'm guessing he has some kind of personality disorder."

"Floyd always jealous. The biggest name will always be Muhammad Ali, and he still doesn't give it up for the GOAT, what makes you think he'd give it up for AJ."

Mayweather is in the U.K as part of super-featherweight phenom Gervonta Davis' entourage as the youngest world champion defends his IBF title against fellow undefeated fighter, Liam Walsh.

Meanwhile, a huge development surfaced earlier in the week as Conor McGregor has agreed his contract to box Mayweather, as the UFC star awaits on Team Mayweather to sign their end of the deal.

UFC president Dana White is set to undergo negotiations with the ex-pound-for-pound king ahead of completing a mega deal.

"I'm starting to work on the Mayweather side now." White said."If we can come to a deal with Haymon and Mayweather, the fight's going to happen."

However, as recently as Wednesday, Mayweather spoke out about the fight. "There's only one fight that makes business sense," he said.

"I came out of retirement because I'm a businessman and I want to give the world what they want to see.

"McGregor's a fighter, I'm a fighter. This is what the fight fans and MMA fans want to see."

Make it happen.
