Tyson Fury has revealed that once his boxing career is finished, he will study for seven years to become a qualified doctor.

Fury, who hasn't fought since November 2015, will return to the ring on June 9th at the Manchester Arena, but it seems he is also thinking about his future after the ring.

"I had a choice and I chose boxing first but, after boxing, I am going to be a doctor," Fury told The Sun. "I made that decision a few years ago. I am going to be a doctor and I am going to help people."

Fury went on to speak about how he will study in the coming years to become a doctor, praising those who help people on a daily basis:

"When I have finished in a few years, I'll still only be in my early 30s. Then I'll study for the next seven years to be a doctor." he continued.

"If I'm 40 and a qualified doctor, I'm still a young doctor. That is what I intend to do. I studied very hard at school but I turned to sport because that was my calling - and I've got to the highest level in that.

"Whatever I put my mind to, I do well. I think doctors and nurses do a fantastic job, they're underpaid and without them we'd be in a lot of trouble."

Following a period of inactivity which included an alleged failed drug test against him, Fury either relinquished or was stripped of his world titles, but he'll be making his anticipated return in around three weeks, under the tutelage of Ben Davison.

"Tyson Fury can do absolutely everything in the ring. He can box front-foot southpaw, back-foot southpaw, stand there and have a fight and he can do all those things as an orthodox fighter too," Davison told ESPN about his star pupil.

"Outside of the ring, the idea people have got about Tyson Fury is 100% unfair. He's a stand-up man and that's one of the first things I noticed with him. He says what he believes and he sticks to what he believes. He's a very good man."
