A 'winner takes all' boxing fight between Conor McGregor and Paulie Malignaggi? Well, that's what the retired-American boxer has interestingly proposed.

Paulie Malignaggi vehemently denied a fight against Conor McGregor was in the works after reports surfaced claiming a bout appeared to be happening.

'Not true' he said in response to being in discussion with Team McGregor over a match-up.

He continued to go in on the Irishman, calling him the 'king of bulls**t' in a savage rant.

However, in a new interview, Malignaggi has called out McGregor and challenged him to a 'winner takes all' fight under boxing rules.

"There's no other fight he can make that he makes more money than he does fighting me," Malignaggi said.

"The problem is, he gets beaten by me. Why are you looking to fight Japanese featherweights for half the money than you would fighting me if you can beat me?"

Malignaggi added: "[Eddie] Hearn can easily put the fight together, [Al] Haymon can easily put the fight together, Showtime have said they'd be interested in it - I don't think it's a no-brainer at this point. I don't think it'd any secret at this point - there's money in the fight.

"In boxing I'd be interested in it. I'd love to do a 'winner takes all' fight just so he can go for free but I don't think he'd ever agree to that.

"I would love to fight Conor McGregor in a 'winner takes all' fight in a boxing match, I would absolutely love it because I would beat him to a pulp, I would hospitalize him and I'd make him go home broke too."

No messing from Malignaggi. McGregor has already dabbled in the boxing circles after facing Floyd Mayweather in 2017.

Though, of course, it's a different ball game from fighting Mayweather to Malignaggi.

McGregor, who returned from that bout by taking on Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, is set to return in 2019.
