Khabib's Father Says Son Is 'Interested In' Boxing Rematch With Conor McGregor

Khabib's father has talked up a boxing match involving his son and McGregor.

Will Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor rematch in a boxing ring? Well, it's actually been talked about.

Wait, what?!

It appears there's been discussions about Nurmagomedov and McGregor facing off again but under boxing rules, instead of MMA rules.

Whilst both fighters are set to sit in front of the Nevada State Athletic Commission for their part in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl, fights continue to be linked with them.

Though the most lucrative of them all is a rematch.

UFC 229 smashed pay-per-view records, raking in over 2 million buys - so a second fight is guaranteed to generate a shitload of cash.

But it could be in the form of a boxing contest.

Khabib's dad, Abdulmanap, says it's a stipulation his team is 'interested in'.

"As for the fight against Conor under boxing rules, this is a fight we are interested in," he said.

"Khabib showed that he is able to beat the best strikers of mixed martial arts. He said this before, but few believed it. However, after strong victories over Michael Johnson, Edson Barboza, and Conor, people begin to believe.

"Nurmagomedov is able to do it in the boxing ring. Khabib has all the skills to win by the rules of boxing. One of the key skills can be called endurance. I remember his five round fight with Iaquinta, in which Khabib showed his willingness to fight in absolutely any area, using everything from a light left jab to control on the ground.

"I want to note that the fight with Iaquinta was of great importance for us, there was a title belt at stake and it was important to keep the bout calm, and take the win. Which we did."

McGregor is hellbent on a rematch with Nurmagomedov and with Dana White's Zuffa Boxing venture in the background, could the Irishman be involved in another boxing bout?
