Fresh off obtaining a boxing license in the state of California, talks of a potential mega-fight against Floyd Mayweather appeared to gain it's first step but not before Paulie Malignaggi can get his hands on Conor McGregor.
The ex-two-weight world champion issued a message to the UFC lightweight titlist offering a fight inside the squared circle. 'The Magic Man' took to Twitter calling out the Irishman before uploading a video on social media detailing the reason behind the call-out other than the obvious financial benefit.

McGregor became the first UFC fighter in the promotions history to hold two world titles simultaneously following his historic triumph at UFC 205 but was stripped of the featherweight belt to prevent a log jam of contenders.
Gaining a boxing license appears to be a bargaining chip against Dana White and Co though it also sparked rumours of the continued talks of McGregor flirting with a fight inside a ring.

Meanwhile, Malignaggi hasn't taken the news well claiming he's disrespecting the sport; "I have been hearing a lot about this Conor McGregor situation and I got to thinking - you know what I am kind of interested."
"At first I was telling Conor to stay in his lane and I was thinking 'you know what, you are going to embarrass yourself' but if you are really going to disrespect the sport of boxing like that then I would like to be the one to teach you that lesson."
"I know you apologised about absolutely nothing last fight but after I am done with you - I am going to knock the beard off you homie - you are going to be apologising for everything you have been trying to do to get into boxing."
McGregor vs. Malignaggi, anyone?
