BREAKING: Amir Khan and Kell Brook In Advance Talks Over Showdown

2017 is going to be a little tasty.

On Saturday night we found out that Haye vs Bellew would be followed a month later by Joshua vs Klitschko and now it looks like the big British nights of boxing will continue in May with the longest standing rivalry of the lot, Amir Khan vs Kell Brook.

Khan and Brook have been rivals for years but it's all based on one calling the other out, be it at the end of fights or on social media. When Khan stepped up two weight divisions to middleweight to fight Canelo Alvarez many saw it as him avoiding the domestic tear up.

Whilst he waited for a big fight to come Brook decided to also step up to middleweight and face the man that most thought Canelo should have been going up against, Gennady Golovkin. Both British men were stopped in their fights against two of the world's best fighters.

Now it looks like they'll finally get it on with Brook's promoter Eddie Hearn telling the BBC the pair are in advance talks for a bout in May saying, "There's a good chance of it [the bout] happening. Amir wants it to happen, so does Kell. We want to put a fight on for the fans."

It's been a good few weeks for Hearn, despite being called out by David Haye. The Matchroom promoter has seen yet another brilliant pay-per-view be a success, with AJ stopping Eric Molina on a stacked card, and signing Haye vs Bellew for March and Joshua vs Klitschko for April in Wembley.

This morning Khan was back goading Brook on social media, taking a picture with the only man to beat the Sheffield boxer, GGG:

Despite both men fighting at middleweight in their most recent in ring outings it's likely that the pair would be fighting at welterweight as Brook still holds the IBF title in that division.

The fight would finally end their war of words and decide who is the better man, it could be pretty tasty!
