He didn't even make the second-string team either.

Even if you're an MJ super-fan, it's hard to deny LeBron James' greatness.

In most people's eyes, the four-time NBA champion is up their with the very best to ever step foot on a basketball court.

And if he's not in your top 3 players of all-time, then he's probably somewhere in your top 10.

Well, Julius "Dr. J" Erving thinks differently.

The Hall of Famer has put together his all-time NBA team consisting of a starting five and a second line-up.

But there's one pretty noticeable absentee with Los Angeles Lakers megastar LeBron nowhere to be seen.

Speaking on the "Posted Up" podcast, Dr J revealed his all-time NBA team with a starting consisting of Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell.

And when assembling his second team, he picked Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

When questioned why LeBron didn't feature, Dr J simply said: "He was a guy who has led the charge in terms of 'super teams' being put together.

"He put together a team in Miami, he put together a team in Cleveland and now he's put together a team in Los Angeles.

"He can pick his own team, I ain't going to pick his team."

Kobe Bryant was another big-name player who also missed out in being picked by Dr J.

And unsurprisingly, as is the case with any of these hypothetical debates, people on social media strongly disagreed with the 1983 NBA champion's selections.

The likes of Shannon Sharpe, Max Kellerman and Colin Cowherd all had a field day debating Dr J's all-time team - of course.
